Automation Technology recently teamed with Patton Myhre Sourcing to customize a pipeline solution for Williams on the Ohio Valley Midstream Ethane pipeline. The project scope was to automate 11 new 12” 900# gate valves with high thrust requirements. The challenge was that these were destined for a remote stretch of the pipeline where power was not available. ATI is providing 28” linear, pneumatic actuators with eight-bottle, regulated nitrogen banks in secure cages as a power source.  ATI is also providing a control system that will allow pipeline operators to control the actuators locally, via a manual selector valve, or remotely using solenoids.  This project showcases ATI’s unique offerings: Power, Controls and Customized Valve Automation.
